Standing next to Hebron Road in the southern part of Jerusalem. Nowadays we say it’s in Jerusalem, but in Biblical times this spot would have been considered about half way between Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
In more modern history, on this spot there was the first airport in Israel 100 years ago, a huge British military base, and very soon there will be a big ten-story American embassy here.
While I recorded this I didn’t even think of it, but since the original road went all the way from Nazareth to Bethlehem, and then on to Hebron and Beer Sheva, it is very possible that Joseph and Mary went along this road.
