Tuvia Pollack is a Jewish Israeli believer in Jesus, a writer, and an enthusiast of biblical history living in Jerusalem. His work explores the Jewish roots of the Christian faith and the world in which Scripture was written, linguistically, culturally, and historically.
Born in Sweden as the grandson of a Holocaust refugee from Germany, Tuvia immigrated to Israel at the age of thirteen. He lives and writes within Hebrew-speaking Israeli society, drawing on daily life, geography, and history to help Christian readers encounter the Bible in its original Jewish setting, not merely as an academic exercise, but as a lived faith.
Tuvia writes regularly for All Israel News, and his work has also appeared in Kehila News and other publications. His articles focus on biblical history, theology, and the Jewish background of the New Testament, as well as selected current events viewed through a historical lens. He has been featured on podcasts and invited to speak at churches, conferences, and educational events in Israel and abroad.
In addition to his writing, Tuvia regularly preaches and teaches in his local Messianic congregation, offering expository teaching through books of the Bible in Hebrew, with English translation. His teaching and writing are devotional in tone, aimed at helping readers approach Scripture with clarity, humility, and confidence.
Writing and historical reflection run in Tuvia’s family across several generations. His great-grandfather’s sister, Erna Meyer, authored the first Zionist cookbook for WIZO, encouraging Jewish women in Mandatory Palestine to cook with local produce as an expression of national renewal. Another ancestor, Saweli M. Perlmann, wrote the first book ever published in Hebrew about China, released in 1911. While Tuvia’s own path to writing came later in life, his work stands within a long tradition of Jewish engagement with history, language, and faith.
Before focusing on writing and teaching, Tuvia worked for many years in the financial field and holds a BA in Economics from an Israeli university, completed in Hebrew.
Alongside his nonfiction work, Tuvia also writes historical fiction. His current novel-in-progress, The Secret Scroll of Magdala, is set during the Great Revolt of the first century and explores the Jewish and early Christian world surrounding the destruction of the Temple.
Tuvia is married to his wife of over 20 years and is the father of four children, now in their teenage and young adult years. Family life shapes both his perspective and his writing, grounding his work in ordinary faithfulness rather than abstract ideas. He lives in Jerusalem with his family and their dog.
