A few days ago I sent out the first two chapters! It’s exciting and nervous. I am sending out my baby that I have spent so much time with the past few years. Unfortunately the email bounced back from anyone using yahoo mail or any kind of mail server using yahoo mail. I am not sure why this happened, and I am looking into it. If you are one of them you have received messages from me about the issue.
In the welcome letter you received when you signed up, there is an “appendix” with a map, character names, etc. Among others there is a handy guide to biblical names. In my book I will consistently use people’s original Hebrew or Greek names in most cases, rather than their anglisized form. So instead of “John, James and Peter” they will be “Yochanan, Yaakov and Kefa” or “Johannes, Jacob and Petrus”, depending if a Hebrew or Greek speaker mentions them.
The first chapter, however, is an exception to this rule. It is intended to draw people in, using a story from the New Testament that they are familiar with. Therefore, that chapter speaks about Jesus, John, Peter and James. I will not keep that anglizisation up. It was for that one chapter only.
Hopefully you’ve gotten acquainted with Menachem and Judith now. Next week we get to the third chapter, which is following Menachem the day after, and chapter four which introduces a new character – Daniel, the date farmer from Jericho.
There is a full list of all the chapters at the bottom of the page right here.
